“Most of us spend most of our time seeking happiness in the wrong places because those who are more likely to succeed are those whose motivation is to give rather than to receive” Yes! It is another time to celebrate and we’re celebrating an Engineer this time, yeah!

Guess what? Engineers are not left out of Nation building. And, with the word BUILDING perhaps, Nation Building should be more to engineers. Today, very quickly we present to you a string of inspiration in the person of OLAYINKA JOSEPH ADEBAJO. Our young and amazing man holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the prestigious University of Ibadan.

Coming to know Olayinka means so much for us at Youth Art Initiative because he is the kind of person we love to see get our kudos remark. In a bit, we will take you through his profile and you will find him quite an amazing fellow too. Coming this far, Olayinka has grown to become a proud civic leader. And today, he is a social entrepreneur by passion and an engineer by Profession.

As a community conscious individual, Olayinka Joseph ADEBAJO is committed to providing real-life and practical solutions to the problems of Women and Children –technologically. Coming to understand the WHY behind his commitment, we discovered that he is constantly driven by the overwhelming presence of several societal issues affecting Women and Children in this part of the World.

According to Olayinka, he is motivated by the prospects of making a change in his immediate community and the World at large. It is therefore this drive and passion that led him to founding OVIWCE –One Voice Initiative for Women and Children Emancipation.

Aside the OVIWCE initiative of Olayinka, he is also into a number of things. And among this is volunteering for other organizations with relatable mission and vision statements. Olayinka Joseph is currently a Project Engineer at NITEO Limited, where he discharges duties around humanitarian causes and serve on the technical hand around Renewable Energy/Uninterruptible Power Supply Installations.

On record, he has gathered volunteer experiences at several non-profit Organisations among which is: All Nigerian United Nations Students and Youths Association, Learn the Goals Africa, Sustainable Development Students Network and Young African Diplomat Networks, African Student for Liberty, Lagos Food Bank Initiative, The Wellbeing Initiative, The Youth Leaders Council and Youths in Motion. Incredible, isn’t it? Yeah… Olayinka is such an awesome being. And the more reason we are proud of what he is spending his time doing.

A quick flashback

  • During his stay on campus in the University of Ibadan, Olayinka served in various capacities as a young and promising leader with integrity as watch word. He was once a former Deputy Speaker at the Faculty of Science. He was the 2015/16 Faculty of Science President and the Executive Head of the Council of Faculty Presidents.
  • In 2015, Olayinka, courtesy of Junior Chamber International JCIN UI, was awarded for his selfless service to a worthy cause. In the same year, he was shortlisted for the Fifteen Most Outstanding Personality Awards (FOPA).

Joseph’s philosophy of life is that “It is not enough to just have heart, we must as well stand up and speak up always.” Olayinka is a member of Teach SDGs Family. He is a Sustainability Advocate and an Environmentalist.

Youth Art Initiative (YAI) is a social enterprise for undergraduates of tertiary institutions with a bias for those few demonstrating and adding values to lives and their immediate communities. The organisation, under the leadership of Ogunleti Azeezat Aderonke –a graduate of Urban and Regional Planning, focuses on assisting and sensitizing young minds through free seminars, workshops and youth development oriented conferences on social responsibility and the need for participatory leadership by taking action.
